Pratapgarh. Chandrakala Universal Cricket Club has achieved the pride of becoming champion by defeating Kayastha Pathshala by two wickets in the final match of Abid Murtaza Memorial Under-19 Cricket Competition organized under the aegis of Prayag Cricket Club.
Harshit Narayan Tiwari of the winning team played an important role in getting the title to his team by his versatile performance (43 not out, 53 balls, seven fours and 4.4 - 0 - 21 -2).
On Tuesday, in the final match at DAV College ground, after losing the toss and batting first, Kayastha Pathshala was all out for 169 runs in 31.4 overs (Kashan Ali 56, Devansh Pathak 38, Ashish Ratnam and Sumit Pandey 20 - 20, Aman Patel 16 runs, Vishal Yadav 3/31, Harshit Narayan Tiwari 2/21, Sachin Mishra 2/36, Apohan Sahu 1/39).
In reply, Chandrakala Universal Cricket Club team made 173 runs for 8 wickets in 34.4 overs (Satyendra Yadav 44, Harshit Narayan Tiwari 43 not out, Satyam Maurya and Anmol Yadav 25-25 runs, Sumit Pandey 3/27, Shivam Yadav 1/15, Ashutosh Pandey 1/32, Mayank Dubey 1/33, Krishna Yadav 1/37).
Arun Kumar and Abhishek Mishra umpired the match and Pritesh Sonkar did the scoring. After the match, chief guest of the competition Ashutosh Kumar Sand, Administrative Advocate, Government of Uttar Pradesh, presented the trophy and awards to the winning team and special guest former Ranji player Javed Khan presented the runner-up team.
In the competition, Man of the Final and Man of the Tournament were given to Harshit Narayan Tiwari, best batsman to Akhil Tiwari of Verma Cricket Club, best bowler to Apohan Sahu and best wicketkeeper to Shivansh Yadav.
Organizing secretary Prashant Khare welcomed the chief guests by giving them bouquets and Ritesh Jaiswal expressed his gratitude and the closing ceremony was conducted by Parimal Dixit.
On this occasion Shailendra Shrivastava, Rajesh Shrivastava, Anoop Singh, Mohammad Rashid, Kaleem Akhtar, Raza Ali, Tarun Gaur, Sohan, Farhat Mustaq, Nitin Sibal Swarnkar, Someshwar Pandey, Imroz Ali, Mohan Patel, Khalid, Vipin Kumar and Madho Mishra etc were present.
