Fire fighting exercise took place in Bareilly's Phoenix Mall, 300 people participated
Bareilly: A fire drill was organized by the district fire department at Phoenix United Mall. The purpose of the exercise was to educate mall staff and shoppers on what to do in case of a fire.
The exercise was conducted on the occasion of Fire Safety Week, which is observed every year in the month of April. The objective of this week is to make people aware about the dangers caused by fire and educate them about fire safety measures.
During the exercise, Fire Safety Officer Sanjeev Kumar and his team gave a live demo of extinguishing the fire using hydrants and fire extinguishers. The management of the mall and all the shopkeepers also participated in the exercise.
Mr. Sanjeev Sarin, Senior Center Director, Phoenix Mall, said, “This exercise is very important from safety point of view as it helped us to know what to do in case of fire. We all need to be aware about fire safety. One must be aware and know how to protect oneself and the people around in case of fire.”
