Pranab Mishra was seen from 'The Kerala Story' to 'Swaraj'
Pranab Mishra enthralled the audience with his role in the hit TV show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 and made his blockbuster Bollywood debut last year with a powerful performance in 'The Kerala Story'. Displaying his brilliant acting ability, he played the role of an anti-hero. He also showed a completely opposite side by playing the role of an unsung hero in the Doordarshan series Swaraj. What makes it interesting is that the actor shot for his anti-hero as well as hero role simultaneously.
After completing the shooting of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Pranav simultaneously started shooting for The Kerala Story, which turned out to be a 300 crore blockbuster. He also shot for Swaraj, in which he played the unsung hero Azimullah Khan. He says, "Both the projects were shot simultaneously. And it was shooting for two completely opposite roles."
Swaraj is a Doordarshan show that highlights the lesser known freedom fighters of India. Pranab played the role of Azimullah Khan, who initiated the Revolt of 1857 and was the one who started India's first printing press named Payam-e-Azadi under British rule. He also published Vande Mataram. Sharing his preparation for the role, the actor revealed, "I took reference materials from the internet to make my character look realistic and also learned French so that I could speak the dialogues."
In September last year, the show was made available to stream on Prime Video. Pranav says, “Thankfully, the Government of India saw the potential in the series. Fortunately, this was my second project after The Kerala Story, and it was announced by our honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
