Police arrested three accused and recovered Rs. 3 lakh 69 thousand cash, car and pistol
Son of a recognized journalist, accused in robbery case, injured in police encounter
Uttar pradesh. On the evening of June 10, near Nagiya Mai village of Saini police station area, more than Rs 5 lakh was looted by miscreants in a car from bike-riding stamp vendor Keshav Prasad Malviya, son of late Purushottam Malviya, resident of village Ramsahaipur, police station Mohabbatpur Painsa.
Superintendent of Police Brijesh Srivastava formed five teams and directed them to successfully solve the robbery case. On the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, the police team became active and they started catching the people involved in the robbery along with the looted money.
In the same sequence, on Tuesday night, the police was checking vehicles near Madhwa Mai village. Meanwhile, a Maruti 800 coming from the same place stopped a little distance away on seeing the police and the driver switched off the lights of the car and started reversing slowly.
On suspicion, the police stopped the car by using torch light and the three people sitting in it were taken out and questioned. They gave their names as Mohammad Sameer son Shamshad resident of village Samda police station.
Upon searching, the police recovered Rs 1,95,000 in cash, two 315 bore pistols and four live cartridges from the possession of the three accused.
On asking about the remaining money related to the robbery, the accused Sameer told that the money is hidden in the forest near village Bhadehari.
On being told by the accused, the police reached Bhadehari village with the accused, where the accused walked ahead in the bamboo forest and picked up the bag hidden in the pit by bending down and took out the loaded illegal weapon already kept in the bag and fired at the police team.
The accused started running away with the bag full of money, on which the police team asked him to surrender, but the accused tried to fire at the police while running away.
On this, the police team fired in self-defense while defending themselves, due to which the accused Sameer got injured and fell on the ground.
When the police went closer and saw, blood was oozing from his right leg. After taking him into custody, the police admitted him for treatment in District Hospital Manjhanpur.
Police recovered from him one 315 bore pistol, one cartridge and shell, Rs. 1,74,000 in cash, totaling Rs. 3,69,000.
The accused involved in the robbery incident, Samir Alam, is said to be the son of a recognised journalist.
According to the police, his criminal history is registered in case number 85/19 under section 147/323/504 at Manjhanpur Police Station, case number 32/23 under section 354/354D, 323/341 506 and 3(1)S/3(2)5A SC/ST at Manjhanpur Police Station /case number 424/22 under section 323/504/504/384/308 at Manjhanpur Police Station, case number 561/22 under section 323/504/506/341 308 at Manjhanpur Police Station.
The arresting team includes SOG in-charge sub-inspector Siddharth Singh, Pramod Kumar Vishwakarma, Manoj Kumar Yadav, head constable Vijay Kumar Singh, Sartaj Ahmed, Manish Kumar, Vivek Kumar Yadav, Ajay Yadav, Vinay Kumar, Mohit Kumar ,Incharge Inspector Saini Jaichand Kumar Sharma, Sub Inspector Dhirendra Singh, Ajay Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, Incharge Inspector Manjhanpur Santosh Kumar Sharma, Sub Inspector Hanuman Pratap Singh, Pradeep Kumar, Mohammad Arif, Constable Anshu Yadav, Constable Amit Kumar arrested the three accused and sent them to the court.
