NTPC is going to start Girls Empowerment Mission Workshop-2024
Anandi Mail Buero Ambedkar Nagar. As soon as summer vacations arrive, preparations begin to welcome the girls to NTPC premises. Amidst the official work, the officers in the NTPC family start consulting on every small arrangement from the arrival of the girls to their food and drink. In this series, on 06.05.2024, the Girls Empowerment Campaign-2024 (GEM) will be organized at NTPC Tanda.
A baseline survey and medical checkup were conducted at the Staff Development Centre. In this event, 40 girls from primary schools around the project participated in the baseline survey and medical checkup. NTPC Limited is India's largest integrated power company. NTPC has organized Girl Empowerment Campaign as one of its major CSR activities since 2018.
This time NTPC is trying to connect about 3000 meritorious children from deprived sections of the society at 42 identified places. This is a new form of Girl Empowerment Campaign-2024 which will take the total number of beneficiary girls to above 10,000. This program is inspired by the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” initiative of the Government of India. NTPC aims to defeat gender inequality and other social evils by promoting the potential of girls.
NTPC sees the development of girls as the development of their family, community and nation. Till date, the Girl Empowerment Campaign has trained a total of 7,424 girls. Through the Girl Empowerment Campaign, NTPC provides education in skill development, confidence-building, self-defense, arts, basic education as well as modern technical knowledge.
The aim of NTPC is to lay the foundation of happy outcomes for the long-term future. On this occasion, Executive Director of Tanda Project, AK Chattopadhyay said that all the employees are ready to welcome the girl child. We all consider this work as our good fortune. Through Girl Empowerment Mission, we get the opportunity of women empowerment and service to the country along with our official work. NTPC Tanda has empowered around 160 girl children from nearby villages over the years.
