Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya conducted a high-level inspection of the under-construction six-lane bridge over the Ganga River, stretching from Malak Harhar to Beli Crossing, on Tuesday. During the visit, the Deputy CM expressed strong displeasure over the sluggish pace of construction and issued a stern warning to the executing agency, S.P.S. Construction India Pvt. Ltd.

Reviewing the progress with officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Maurya emphasized that no compromise on quality would be tolerated. Representatives of the construction firm assured the Deputy CM that the bridge would be fully operational by May 2026.

Addressing the media, Maurya highlighted that the upcoming Inner Ring Road and multiple new bridges over the Ganga and Yamuna rivers would transform Prayagraj into a hub of seamless connectivity. "Our focus is on creating a robust network of flyovers and widened roads to accelerate the city's growth," he stated.

Following the inspection, the Deputy CM, alongside Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad, attended a felicitation ceremony at the Zila Panchayat Auditorium. He honored Khushbu Nishad, the Asian Miss Martial Arts gold medalist, with a shawl and bouquet, praising her for bringing laurels to the state. The event was attended by MP Praveen Patel, MLA Guru Prasad Maurya, and other prominent dignitaries.
