They align us, rejuvenate us, and help us physically and mentally: Ajay Gehi

Mumbai : The festive season in India is much more than lights, sweets, and grand celebrations, but it’s a time for spiritual reflection and emotional rejuvenation. Actor Ajay Gehi, who has been part of the shows Miliee and Hero Gayab Mode, On and in movies like Maqbool, Raavan, Not a Love Story, and Ek Thi Begum, he always found meaning in traditions and opened up about how he views the deeper essence of festivals, the energies they invoke, and even how Bollywood portrays them on screen.

Talking about how Navratri sets the tone for the season ahead, he said, “Navratri is perfect in setting the festival where we pray to all our goddesses, our deities who invoke different qualities in us. The energies cleanse us and give us the power to face all sorts of obstacles in life. Hence, I feel it's a perfect start to the festive seasons. But we need to pray and pay our respect to the deities.”

He believes that the rituals and prayers are not just symbolic but also transformative. On how festivals cleanse the mind and soul, he added, “As we all know, we face different obstacles in life, and all of them seem unachievable. But if we pray to our deities, they bless us with the energies that help us face our fears, overcome hurdles, and achieve our goals, be it money, good health, wealth, fame, or protection. Once you know the potential of the energies, you are empowered with the knowledge that negativity cannot persist.”

Festivals also bring hope and togetherness, especially in challenging times. He said, “These festivals give a sense of hope and positivity to all, especially people going through hard times, and positivity is contagious, so it spreads, bringing a smile to everyone. Also gives a sense of unity.”

In today’s fast-paced world, Ajay feels these celebrations are needed more than ever. He added, “Yes, they do, and I think it is what is needed the most in today's time, where everyone is living in a crowded city but feeling alone.”

Blending spirituality with science, he explained how festivals go beyond rituals. He said, “The festival season, or days, is due to certain constellations and placements of planets in the sky. Even science accepts that certain planets emit certain magnetic frequencies that affect us. All the festivals, no matter what the religion, have a deep meaning. It is meant to align us, rejuvenate us, and help us physically and mentally.”

On a personal level, Ajay keeps things simple and heartfelt. He added, “It's very personal. I try to pray and spread joy as much as I can.”
