#AmwayIndia Empowers Children with Nutrition Education on Bal Diwas

Lucknow :  Aligning with India's national priority to combat childhood malnutrition, Amway India, a leader in health and well-being, organized a special initiative under its flagship nutrition program, 'Power of 5.' Partnering with ChildFund India, the event was held at Composite School, Bastauli, Chinhat, Lucknow, coinciding with Children's Day to emphasize the importance of good nutrition, hygiene, and a healthy lifestyle through engaging, play-based learning.

Mr. Rajnish Chopra, Managing Director of Amway India, highlighted the fundamental need for early nutrition. “Every child deserves a strong foundation of good nutrition from their childhood to become healthy and empowered for a brighter future," he stated.

Mr. Chopra praised India's efforts, citing initiatives like Poshan Abhiyan and Mission Saksham Anganwadi, which strengthen systems for delivering proper nutrition and boost community awareness. He added, “Through the 'Power of 5' program, we strive to cultivate understanding and adoption of balanced diet, hygiene, and healthy habits among children and their caregivers. This Children's Day is not just a formal celebration; it is an opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to nurturing the potential of every child.”

The initiative focused on raising awareness about nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyles through highly interactive and engaging sessions. Volunteers, including Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and employees, actively participated alongside the children.

Key activities included preparing nutritious dishes like fruit salad, sprouts chaat, and healthy sandwiches. A collective painting activity allowed the children to creatively express their understanding of hygiene and nutrition. Other sessions, such as drawing competitions, role-playing in skits, and giving short speeches, were designed to boost the children’s self-confidence and expressive skills while learning vital health messages.

Dr. Srabanti Sen, Director of Programs and Impact at ChildFund India, underscored the long-term impact of investing in early childhood nutrition. “When we invest in children’s nutrition today, we are not just addressing malnutrition; we are promising them sharp minds, strong bodies, and a brighter tomorrow," she remarked.

Dr. Sen expressed pride in the partnership with Amway India, noting that interactive activities help to embed essential health messages effectively. She concluded, “Through the 'Power of 5' program, our shared goal is to empower communities with knowledge that can transform children's health and future.”
