Women Empowered Through Stitching Program in Jaunpur
Stitching training in Jaunpur sparks entrepreneurship and interest in handloom and cottage industries.
Jaunpur:A collaborative effort between India’s MSME Ministry, the National Handloom and Handicrafts Development Council, Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti, and USS Foundation has resulted in a stitching training program in Ranjitpur, Jaunpur. This initiative has significantly raised awareness among women, fostering entrepreneurship and increased participation in government schemes. Shikha Singh, who presided over the program, highlighted the growing attraction women have toward handloom industries and their rising interest in small-scale and cottage industries.
Parasnath Singh emphasized that the Indian government is continually supporting small-scale industries, which are vital to societal organization and national development. The training not only introduces artisans to innovative ideas but also helps them create more attractive and improved products. The event was overseen by Janardan Singh, with notable attendees including Ashok Kumar Singh, Sushma Singh, Bindu Gaur, and village head Savitri Devi.
