Samsung Celebrates 5th Year of 'Solve for Tomorrow' by Driving Grassroots Innovation Across 135 Indian Cities

Lucknow : Marking the fifth anniversary of its flagship CSR program, Samsung India has taken its 'Solve for Tomorrow' initiative to unprecedented heights. By organizing 184 Design Thinking workshops across 135 cities, the tech giant has built one of the nation's largest grassroots platforms for youth-led innovation.

The nationwide competition invites young minds aged 14 to 22 to address pressing community challenges through technology-driven solutions, structured mentorship, and incubation support. This year’s outreach reached thousands of students in schools, colleges, and universities spanning from Jammu & Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat to Tripura.

Through these interactive sessions, participants were introduced to human-centered design principles—learning to empathize, define real-world problems, brainstorm novel concepts, and build functional prototypes. The ideas submitted reflect India’s rich diversity, falling under four core themes: AI Living for India, Health & Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Sports & Tech.

Emerging concepts included AI-powered civic governance models, smart food quality scanners, assistive tech for individuals with disabilities, and low-cost digital sports coaching solutions.

In Hyderabad, engineering student A. Sharanya Rao conceptualized a real-time river monitoring system to tackle invisible micro-pollutants.

In Ahmedabad, 9th-grader Sanvi Nair designed a portable solar-powered refrigerator to help rural farmers and laborers safely store food and water.

"Every great innovation begins with listening, observing, and asking the right questions," said SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia. "We believe the next generation of tech leaders can emerge from any corner of the country."

With the workshops wrapped up, 'Solve for Tomorrow' enters its next phase. The top 100 teams will soon be shortlisted from the submitted ideas to undergo intensive expert guidance and further evaluation.
