Civil Defense Prayagraj Drives Cleanliness Campaign at Dashashwamedh Ghat for World Cleanup Day
Civil Defense Prayagraj organized a cleanliness drive at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Daraganj under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan on World Cleanup Day to promote hygiene and awareness among local residents.
Prayagraj : As part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and to commemorate World Cleanup Day, the Civil Defense division of Prayagraj organized a comprehensive cleanliness drive at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Daraganj on Sunday. The initiative was led by Deputy Controller Neeraj Mishra, Chief Warden Anil Kumar, and ADC Rakesh Kumar Tiwari.
The campaign aimed to align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous call for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness across public spaces. Addressing Civil Defense volunteers and local residents, Deputy Controller Neeraj Mishra emphasized that the objective is to build lasting habits around personal and public sanitation through banners, posters, and community engagement.
A massive team of Civil Defense volunteers, civic officials, and public figures actively participated in clearing litter and sanitizing the ghat premises. Prominent dignitaries present at the drive included Senior Assistant Deputy Controller Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, Staff Officer to Chief Warden L.K. Aherwar, Shri Krishna Tiwari, Rajendra Kumar Tiwari "Dukhanji", and Ashish Bajpai.
The initiative also received strong community support with the presence of former Deputy Mayor Anamika Choudhary (Namami Gange), retired Major Sunil Kumar Nishad, Rajesh Pathak, Kashi Nath Sonkar, Prabhat Maurya, and Ranjan Ji from the Municipal Corporation. Together with numerous Civil Defense volunteers, the participants successfully mobilized local residents to take collective responsibility for preserving the sanctity and cleanliness of Prayagraj's riverfronts.
