Lucknow Skaters Dominate Day 1 of the 7th UP Open State Roller Skating Championship

Lucknow: The host city's skaters put on a spectacular show of speed and skill on the opening day of the two-day 7th Uttar Pradesh Open State Roller Skating Championship. Hosted at Central Academy, Indira Nagar, the tournament saw local talent outshine competitors from across the state, with Lucknow's Trikash Singh clinching a sensational gold medal.

The championship kicked off with an electrifying performance by Kabir Deep Sehgal, a prodigy from La Martiniere College. Competing in the 4–6 years age bracket of the 500-meter category, Kabir amazed the audience to secure a silver medal.

As the action intensified in the 500-meter events, the winning streak continued for the capital city. In the 12–15 years boys' and girls' categories, Aarush Kumar Mishra and Shariya Khan from DPS Jankipuram displayed immense grit to bag a silver medal each. Meanwhile, Tanmay Yadav of Vibgyor High School added another silver to Lucknow's tally in the 10–12 years category. The crowning moment of the day belonged to Vibgyor High School's Trikash Singh, who outpaced the entire grid in the 8–10 years category to claim the coveted gold medal.

"Competing against over 450 elite skaters from districts like Agra, Shahjahanpur, Jhansi, and Bareilly, Lucknow’s performance has been absolutely phenomenal," said head coach Neeraj Srivastava.

The stellar results reflect the dedication of coach Neeraj Srivastava and assistant coaches Prakash Mishra and Gaurav Sahni. Celebrating the spectacular start, Manoj Verma, President of the Rollball Sports Association of Lucknow, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the victorious athletes and the coaching staff for bringing laurels to the city.
