LJP delegation visits Bhadohi, demanding ₹50 lakh compensation and justice for a Dalit man allegedly burned alive by a village head's son.
Bhadohi : A high-level delegation from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), acting under the direct instructions of Union Minister and National President Chirag Paswan, visited the bereaved family of Jaisalal Saroj in Pipargaon on Saturday. The visit follows a horrific incident on March 9, where the 55-year-old Dalit man was allegedly burned alive following a dispute with the local village head’s son.
According to reports, the tragedy unfolded when Saroj approached the village head, Ramnayak Yadav, to request repairs for a hand pump. The interaction escalated into an argument, during which the head’s son, Kamlesh Yadav, allegedly doused Saroj in petrol and set him on fire. Saroj succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Guided by Uttar Pradesh in-charge Arun Bharti, the LJP delegation met with the victim's family to express deep condolences and offer legal support. During the visit, party leaders held telephonic discussions with the Bhadohi Superintendent of Police and the local Area Officer (CO), demanding immediate and stringent action against the perpetrators.
- The LJP (Ram Vilas) has formally placed the following demands before the state administration:
- A high-level investigation into the "heinous crime."
- Financial assistance of ₹50 lakh for the victim's family.
- A government job for a family member.
- Provision of a residential lease to ensure the family's security.
"No culprit should be spared in this brutal attack against the Scheduled Caste (Pasi) community," stated the delegation. State President Rajeev Paswan and other senior leaders warned that if justice is delayed and the administrative demands are not met, the party will launch a large-scale protest across the state.
The delegation included prominent figures such as Kamla Kumari (National Vice President), Vikas Pandey, and several district presidents from Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Prayagraj, signaling the party's intent to make this a central issue of social justice in the region.
