IFFCO Phulpur Unit Organises Health Camp, Over 350 Contract Workers Get Medical Check-Up
IFFCO Phulpur unit held a Shramik Samman health camp where over 350 contract workers received free check-ups, pathology tests and medicines from specialist doctors of the Community Health Centre, Phulpur.
Prayagraj: A "Shramik Samman" health camp was organised at the IFFCO Phulpur unit to look after the well-being of contract workers employed at the plant. The camp was held under the directions of Sumit Kumar, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and in the presence of Manoj Kumar Yadav, Labour Enforcement Officer, Phulpur.
Organised in the spirit of "healthy workers, safe workers and a prosperous Uttar Pradesh," the camp saw participation from more than 350 contract workers, who availed themselves of health check-ups and medical consultations.
A team of doctors from the Community Health Centre, Phulpur, examined the workers. The panel included a general physician, a dental surgeon, an eye specialist, a gynaecologist and an ENT specialist, ensuring that workers could consult experts across different fields in one place.
Pathology testing facilities were also arranged at the camp. Workers were screened for blood sugar, blood pressure, dengue and malaria, among other conditions. Following the check-ups, free medicines were distributed to those who needed them.
The initiative was considered an important step towards raising health awareness among contract workers and making essential medical screening and treatment easily accessible to them. Since many contract workers often find it difficult to take time out for regular health check-ups, such camps help detect ailments early and encourage timely treatment.
Several officials and staff members of the unit were present during the camp. They included Shambhu Shekhar, Head of Department (Human Resources), and Chief Medical Officer Anita Mishra. Others present were Anil Kumar Singh, Vishnu Kant Tiwari, Akhilesh Shukla, Rahul Kumar, Alok Shukla, Salik Ram and Pradeep Srivastava.
Participating workers expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and appreciated the effort to bring doctors and free medicines directly to the workplace. The organisers said that such health camps will be held from time to time so that workers remain healthy, productive and aware of their well-being.
