Prayagraj Division Holds Safety Seminar at Chheoki Lobby to Strengthen Railway Operations

Prayagraj : To further strengthen the safety of train operations in the Prayagraj Division, a safety seminar was organised at the Prayagraj Chheoki Lobby on October 7, 2026. The event was held in the presence of Senior Divisional Safety Officer Umesh Chandra Shukla and drew around 35 employees from the operating department, including running staff.

During the seminar, detailed discussions were held on the causes of Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD) and the measures to prevent it. The participants were also briefed on precautions to be taken during shunting operations and on how to monitor shunting effectively. Another key topic was the safety procedures to be followed while opening and closing relay rooms. Speakers also underlined the importance of safety, security and punctuality in day-to-day railway working.

Staff were encouraged to remain fully alert and strictly follow prescribed safety rules so that the number of accidents can be brought down to zero.

The Senior Divisional Safety Officer and the safety team who came from the divisional headquarters shared important information on safe and secure train operations. They stressed that even a small lapse in railway working can lead to serious consequences. Every employee, they said, must therefore discharge duties with complete vigilance, discipline and in accordance with laid-down rules.

Station Superintendent of Prayagraj Chheoki, Kumar Rakesh, Senior Crew Controller S. N. Dwivedi and Chief Loco Inspector Hemant Kumar also addressed the gathering and explained various aspects of safety. They particularly emphasised adhering to the prescribed procedures during signal, shunting and other operational duties. They also asked staff to inform the concerned officials immediately in case of any abnormal situation.

The seminar aimed to raise safety awareness among running and operating staff and to ensure safe, smooth and accident-free train operations across the division. Officials said such programmes will continue to be organised regularly so that employees remain updated on safety norms and best practices.
