Kanpur : In a unique fusion of sports and entertainment, the Young Badminton League (YBL) is taking a significant step to raise the profile of Indian badminton. The league's mission has attracted the attention of renowned TV actress Geetanjali Mishra, who will be present at the YBL trials at MR Jaipuria School in Lucknow on Wednesday, September 10.

Mishra, who is also the proud owner of the 'Net Ninjas' team, expressed her excitement about the new venture. "This is a new beginning for me as well," she said. "Badminton hasn't received the same recognition as cricket, but this league is poised to change the landscape of the sport in India."

She emphasized the potential for the league to create a major impact, proving that sports have the power to "inspire, unite, and change lives" when entertainment and athletics come together. Her presence at the trials is expected to bring a new level of glamour and attention to the sport.

The YBL also boasts a powerful name in its leadership: former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who serves as the league commissioner. Singh expressed his pride in his new role. "I am proud to be the League Commissioner of YBL. There is immense potential for badminton in India, and this league is going to bring about a big change in the Indian sports world," he said. "I am excited to work with all stakeholders to make this league a grand success."

The YBL aims to provide a platform for young and aspiring badminton players, giving them an opportunity to compete at a higher level and gain recognition. The involvement of well-known personalities like Geetanjali Mishra and Harbhajan Singh is a strategic move to attract a wider audience and build a strong fan base for the league, which is set to become a game-changer for Indian badminton.
