Prayagraj. Rotary Allahabad Midtown organized a seminar on cervical cancer at Maharishi Patanjali School on Tuesday. Rotarian Dr. Arpit Bansal told the students about the causes and prevention of cervical cancer.
Dr. Arpit told that it is a malignant tumor in the lower part of the uterus (womb) which can be prevented by Pap smear screening and HPV vaccine. This vaccine can be given till the age of 45 years. The best time is between the ages of 9-13 years. This is because the effectiveness of the vaccine will depend on whether you have already come in contact with the HPV virus that causes cervical cancer or not.
