New Delhi. The central government has taken important steps to promote Indian education. Central government has launched 'Study in India' portal for foreign students. This portal is a one-stop platform that will facilitate the academic journey of foreign students in India. Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan and Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has jointly inaugurated the portal in New Delhi.
The Study in India portal will provide students with comprehensive information about Indian higher education institutions. Along with this, students will be given complete information about academic facilities, and research assistance. The portal will also provide students with an integrated one-stop solution for registration and visa application processes. The SII portal will also offer undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral level programs as well as educational programs covering courses from Indian knowledge systems like yoga, Ayurveda, classical arts, etc.
Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said the launch of this portal aims to make India a hub of global education by welcoming students from diverse backgrounds. It will also help us establish a strong international footprint for India in the education sector. I focus on the portal's integrated approach, which enables user-friendly application processes for international students from registration to visa approval. It simplifies their entire journey, facilitating the selection of desired courses and getting offers from respective institutions.
He said that from the Indian point of view, there is no doubt that domestic students will benefit from the presence of international students. It will connect students more closely to the globalizing world and better prepare them for the global workplace. The Union Minister said that having students from other countries study with you gives you a better understanding of their cultures, habits, traditions and even thinking. Not only this but when such students go back to their country, they actually become goodwill ambassadors for India.
