Kuwait  - 34 nurses and medical staff who were arrested in Kuwait on September 12 have been released on Wednesday. All of them have been released after the efforts of the Indian Embassy in Kuwait. The families of the arrested people had appealed to the Government of India for their release. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait wrote in a post on X that 34 Indian nurses/medical staff detained by Kuwaiti authorities on September 12 have been released. They have been released today based on the intervention of the Indian Embassy in Kuwait along with all concerned authorities.

Let us tell you that 34 medical staff including 19 Malayalis were arrested by Kuwait for not following the residence rules. After this, the Indian Embassy had intensified efforts for his release as soon as the information was received. The arrested nurses included medical personnel from Thiruvananthapuram, Adoor, Idukki, and Kannur. All of them have served in the hospital of Iranian citizens for 10 years. This hospital is located in Abbasiya. Among those arrested, 11 are also from Andhra and Tamil Nadu.

After the arrest of Indian nurses in Kuwait, their families also contacted the Indian government. After this, on the efforts of the Indian Government, the Embassy in Kuwait started talking to the officials there. After completing all the formalities, all 34 nurses and medical staff were released. Let us tell you that more than 60 medical staff from Egypt, Iran and the Philippines are still in jail in Kuwait.
