Prayagraj. A conference was held at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Mumbai to discuss the opportunities and prospects of the recently announced India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). In which MP Professor Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi also participated. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that IMEC highlights our Prime Minister's vision towards inclusivity and international trade.
This has opened up many opportunities for India and other countries that are part of this project. The corridor will enhance economic integration, create jobs, reduce logistics costs, increase efficiency, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thus addressing a range of issues ranging from economic growth to unemployment and climate change.
This corridor will also offer India, the Middle East, and Europe the opportunity to explore and diversify trade routes and trading partners globally. Chairman of ICPRD no. Rajiv Ranjan Singh stressed the need for the conference and said IMEC is a project that will have a positive impact on India and the global economy. We are organizing the conference to initiate dialogue on the possibilities of opening the corridor specifically for India.
We aim to engage entrepreneurs, ministers, policymakers, and all other stakeholders to participate in discussions and brainstorming sessions so that we can come up with the best ways to benefit India and other partner countries from this project. He further said this is the first in a series of several conferences on this topic. We decided to start from Mumbai as it would be the starting point of IMEC.
