Pratapgarh. A meeting of schemes/programs related to Rural Development and Panchayat Department and District Sanitation Committee was held yesterday evening in the auditorium of the camp office under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Sanjeev Ranjan.

In the review of rural development schemes/programs, the District Magistrate directed the District Development Officer to monitor the MNREGA works, and resolve any complaints received regarding MNREGA works. Those who are rightfully entitled to do MNREGA work should be given work.

The District Magistrate directed the Block Development Officers that before approving the works, the site must be inspected and no negligence should be shown at any level. Special attention should be paid to the digging of ponds and rainwater should be stored in ponds and lakes.

He directed that 100 ponds should be dug in each development block and rainwater should be stored. Preparations should be made for plantation and water storage in the blocks.

The District Magistrate reviewed the Pradhan Mantri and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin and clearly instructed the Block Development Officers that notices should be issued to the beneficiaries whose housing installments have been paid but the houses are not yet complete and after that action should be taken to issue RC.

After this, the meeting of schemes/programs related to Panchayat Department and District Sanitation Committee was concluded.

The District Magistrate expressed strong displeasure and reprimanded ADO Panchayat and DPRO and directed that negligence should never be shown in the work of payment of Panchayati Raj Department, otherwise action will be taken against the concerned.

In the review of the construction of Panchayat Bhawan in Gram Panchayats, the District Magistrate directed that the construction work of Panchayat Bhawan should be completed as soon as possible. 

In the review of the fulfillment of the target selected for ODF Plus in the financial year 2023-24 under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) Phase-2 and declaration of model village, it was told that against 954 villages, 237 villages have been declared model villages by constructing RRC center, compost pit, soakpit, leachpit etc., work is in progress in the remaining 717 villages.

During the review, the District Magistrate told the DPRO that the condition of the Gram Panchayat is bad, indifference is being shown in work, bring improvement in the works of the Panchayati Raj Department, otherwise action will be taken against the concerned.
