Randeep Hooda salutes the bravery and unwavering dedication of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar

On the death anniversary of freedom fighter Shri Veer Savarkar, who was a visionary in the fight for India's freedom, who burned like a flame and had patriotism in his veins, actor Randeep Hooda paid an emotional tribute to him in his own words. Randeep saluted his bravery and unwavering dedication for the freedom and integrity of the country.

Randeep Hooda said, “Today is the death anniversary of Swatantra Veer Savarkar. A man whose fierce intelligence and fierce courage so frightened the British that they imprisoned him twice in this 7 by 11 feet prison of Kalapani. While doing recce of his biopic, I tried to lock myself inside this closet. To realize what they might have gone through. I couldn't stay locked up even for 20 minutes, where he was often held in solitary confinement for 11 years."

Savarkar, a leading proponent of Hindutva ideology, was born in Maharashtra in 1883 and died in 1966. Directed by Randeep Hooda and produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda and Yogesh Rahar. Co-produced by Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, Panchali Chakraborty. The film starring Randeep Hooda, Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial will be released in theaters on 22 March 2024 in two languages – Hindi and Marathi.
