Prayagraj : The 14th edition of the Rasulpur Premier League (RPL) kicked off with high-octane action at the Majidia Islamia Inter College ground on Sunday. In a thrilling start to the Haji Akhlaq Khan and Haji Badruddin Khan Memorial Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, Vasiyabad Tiger, Prayag Paint, and Kumbiyana Warriors secured their berths in the semifinals.Match 1: Vasiyabad Tiger Edges Out Hamd DairyThe opening clash saw Vasiyabad Tiger post a competitive $120/7$ in their allotted 10 overs, fueled by Himanshu’s 24 and Faiz Ali’s 20. Despite a valiant 40 from Hamd Dairy’s Fahad, the Tulsipur side fell short, finishing at $110/6$. Suryansh, who claimed three crucial wickets for 29 runs, was named Player of the Match.Match 2: Dominant Prayag Paint Crushes The Crystal GardenPrayag Paint Rasulpur displayed clinical dominance in the second match. After restricting The Crystal Garden Bagia to exactly 100 runs, Prayag’s openers, Kuldeep and Divyansh, went on a rampage. Both remained unbeaten on 44, chasing down the target in just 6.2 overs without losing a single wicket. Kuldeep took home the Player of the Match trophy.Match 3: High-Scoring ThrillerThe final qualifying match saw Kumbiyana Warriors set a target of 105, led by Saqlain Khan’s unbeaten 41. However, Dildar Strikers’ Sahil stole the show with a blistering 54*, guiding his team to victory with three balls to spare. Sahil was rightfully adjudged Player of the Match.Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by veteran cricketer Taj Mustafa. Prominent local figures including Qutubuddin Khan, Rocky Khan, and Dr. Zubair Ahmed were present to encourage the young athletes.
