PRAYAGRAJ-Prayagraj's Malak Harhar bridge, a 9.9-km six-lane Ganga crossing, has received approval for a multi-lane free-flow (MLFF) tolling system, enabling barrier-free toll collection. The move marks a major infrastructure upgrade for Uttar Pradesh and promises faster, smoother travel for commuters.

Load testing at the toll plaza is scheduled between October 10 and October 30. Trials will assess the plaza's capacity, vehicle detection and payment processing before launch, aiming to prevent congestion and keep bridge traffic moving smoothly without any stoppage.

Alongside the tolling rollout, beautification work on the bridge is targeted for completion by November 30. Once operational, the project is expected to ease congestion, cut travel time between Prayagraj and neighbouring districts, and strengthen UP's push for technology-driven highways.
