CORDET Empowers Prayagraj Farmers with Modern Nano-Fertilizer Training

Prayagraj : In a significant move toward sustainable and cost-effective agriculture, the Motilal Nehru Farmers Training Institute (CORDET), IFFCO Phulpur, organized a one-day farmer training program on July 20. The event, tailored for farmers from Saif Khanpur village (Bahria block), focused on integrating cutting-edge liquid nano-fertilizers into traditional farming.

Dr. Vivek Dixit, Principal of CORDET Phulpur, attended as the chief guest and highlighted IFFCO’s nano-fertilizers as a revolutionary milestone for Indian agriculture. He emphasized that transitioning to liquid nano technology is essential for achieving affordable and eco-friendly farming.

Key Insights on Nano-Fertilizers
Dr. Dixit provided detailed instructions on utilizing Nano Urea Plus, Nano DAP, Nano Copper, and Nano Zinc, specifically for the ongoing paddy season.

• Cost Reduction: A 500 ml bottle of Nano DAP costs just ₹600 and can treat up to 100 kg of seeds, tubers, or roots.
• Resource Optimization: Farmers were advised to cut their traditional granular DAP usage by half.
• Application Method: For Nano Urea, a spray solution of 4 ml per liter of water on crop leaves was recommended to boost yield and quality.
• Environmental Protection: The Principal warned against the excessive use of traditional chemical fertilizers, which degrades soil, pollutes water, and harms the ecosystem.

Diversifying Income and Soil Health
Beyond fertilizers, the workshop focused on holistic rural development. Senior official Savita Shukla educated participants on food processing and fruit preservation. She noted that preparing pickles, murabba, and juices could provide substantial secondary income for rural households.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, In-charge of the Integrated Rural Development Program, advocated for bio-fertilizers and organic decomposers. Meanwhile, Training In-charge Mukesh Tiwari, who anchored the program, stressed the vital role of regular soil testing in maintaining land fertility.

The session concluded with an educational tour of CORDET’s various operational units. Prominent local farmers, including Chandrakali Devi, Meena Kumari, Lakhan Singh, and Jay Singh, actively participated alongside CORDET officials.
