Hosts KP Inter College Claim Commanding Victory in District Nehru Hockey Tournament

Prayagraj : Host KP Inter College showcased an outstanding display of skill and dominance to clinch the District Nehru Hockey Tournament title on its home ground. The action-packed event featured high-spirited matches across the Under-15 boys, Under-17 boys, and Under-17 girls categories.

Inspiring Inauguration
The tournament was officially inaugurated by the chief guest and event convener, Principal Dr. Yogendra Singh. Addressing the young athletes, Dr. Singh emphasized the deep cultural and historical significance of the sport.

"Hockey is not merely a game; it is a symbol of our nation's pride, discipline, dedication, and team spirit," Dr. Singh remarked.

Drawing inspiration from the legend Major Dhyan Chand, he added: "Despite limited resources, Major Dhyan Chand elevated India’s global standing through sheer determination and patriotism. I hope you play with that same passion to bring honor to your district, state, and country."

Match Highlights & Results
The focal point of the tournament was the Under-15 Boys' final match between KP Inter College and Lala Manmohan Das Inter College, Jhusi. KP Inter College dominated the field from the opening whistle, securing a decisive 6–0 victory.

Early Surge: Anmol set the tone early by scoring the first goal in the 4th minute, quickly followed by his second in the 9th minute to give the host team a comfortable 2–0 lead.

Middle Quarters: Maintaining constant pressure, Anurag and Harishankar Pal each netted a goal during the second quarter.

Sensational Finish: In the final quarter, Anmol struck twice more to complete a spectacular hat-trick, sealing the 6–0 sweep for KP Inter College.

In other categories, Majidia Islamia Inter College (Under-17 Boys) and Lala Manmohan Das Inter College (Under-17 Girls) were declared winners in their respective divisions due to being the sole competing entries.

Tournament Organization
Sports Lecturer Umesh Khare smoothly coordinated the tournament. The officiating panel comprised referees Divyank, Sunny Pandey, Amit, and Rishi. Notable figures including Aqeel Abbas Rizvi, Dr. Brijesh Khare, Hari Lal, Vipul, and Nitin Patel were present to support the young athletes.
