#Airtel Rolls Out Free International Roaming Across Its New Postpaid Plans

Lucknow. Bharti #Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom operators, has unveiled a revamped set of postpaid plans that now include free international roaming, giving customers a reason to stay connected on their overseas trips without worrying about extra charges.

Effective October 8, 2026, subscribers on the new plans can activate a complimentary roaming pack once every year for one international journey. The pack bundles 5 GB of data, 60 minutes of calling and 25 outgoing SMS, while incoming SMS remain free. It stays valid for five days, and customers are free to start it whenever they choose, which makes planning a trip simpler. Under Airtel’s postpaid family plans, every member covered by the plan can claim this benefit individually.

Apart from roaming, the plans continue to offer unlimited data and Fast Lane technology on 5G, designed to prioritise postpaid users on the network for a smoother experience. Network-level protection against spam calls and fraudulent links also remains part of the package. Customers additionally get access to several entertainment subscriptions and to the Airtel Postpaid Advantage Club, which opens doors to special experiences such as comedy shows, film premieres and live concerts.

Speaking about the launch, Amit Tripathi, Director – Market Operations at Bharti Airtel, said the company wants postpaid to mean the best possible experience in the Indian market. He noted that Airtel aims to pair strong network quality with value-adding services, and that free international roaming is the latest addition. He added that the company remains committed to improving customer experience and giving users more reasons to choose Airtel Postpaid.

Switching is straightforward. Existing Airtel customers, whether on older postpaid plans or on prepaid, can upgrade through the Airtel app or by visiting a nearby Airtel store. People who are not yet Airtel users can send a request through the app or walk into a store to move to Airtel Postpaid. The new plans are available to all customers taking Airtel Postpaid from October 8, 2026.
