Lucknow Launches Go-Live Portal for Cashless Healthcare Benefitting Accredited Journalists under AB-PMJAY

Lucknow : In a landmark move for media welfare, the Information Directorate in Lucknow officially gave its consent to take the newly developed AB-PMJAY portal live. This dedicated platform aims to provide comprehensive, cashless medical treatment facilities to accredited journalists and their dependent family members across Uttar Pradesh.

The high-level meeting was chaired by Information Director Vishal Singh at the Directorate auditorium, bringing together key officials from the State Health Agency, Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). During the session, health agency officials delivered a detailed presentation outlining the digital workflow and process flow of the platform. Through a live demonstration, attendees were walked through the entire procedure of application submission, beneficiary verification, and the prompt downloading of Ayushman cards. The training session witnessed active participation from officials and staff representing both the headquarters and various district information offices across the state.

Addressing the gathering, Information Director Vishal Singh emphasized that the portal has been meticulously designed to be user-friendly, ensuring that journalists and their families experience zero friction when accessing emergency or routine healthcare services. Setting a strict timeline, he directed all district-level information officers to ensure that every accredited journalist who has not yet secured an Ayushman card completes the necessary formalities within the next week. All verified details must be uploaded onto the portal promptly, with a compliance report submitted to the headquarters for swift secondary processing. Singh issued a stern warning that any laxity or negligence in executing these directives would be dealt with seriously.

The strategic meeting saw strong representation from key administrative figures, including Senior Finance and Accounts Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh, Assistant Director Satish Chandra Bharti, Dr. Jitendra Pratap Singh, and Amit Kumar Yadav, alongside other departmental officials and staff members. This initiative marks a crucial step forward in safeguarding the health and financial security of media personnel who play a vital role in democratic transparency.
