Mumbai. As October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it's a reminder for every woman to prioritize her health and get into the habit of regular breast self-examination. In this important month, SBI Life Insurance is embarking on another year-long journey to help women learn and make breast self-examination a habit through its ‘Thanks a Dot’ initiative.
As a part of this initiative, SBI Life has developed a new innovative tool to promote breast self-examination using 'Hot Water Bag', which can be used by women suffering from menstrual pain across the country. Most are used to deal with. A simple change in the design of the hot water bag, i.e. engraving special lumps on the front of the bag, helps women experience what a real breast cancer lump would feel like during a self-examination. The tool helps train, educate and remind Indian women about the importance of early detection and making breast self-examination a regular habit.
Emphasizing on the need for breast self-examination, Mr. Ravindra Sharma, Head, Brand, Corporate Communications & CSR, SBI Life Insurance said, “Gradually women are beginning to prioritize their health over various duties and responsibilities. We have started to understand the importance, but we realized that in practice, many of them are still struggling to take steps to protect their health. Breast cancer is one of the most common diseases in women today, so it becomes important for every woman to put her health first and take simple steps to perform breast exams herself. Keeping in mind the urgent need to create awareness about the need for breast self-examination, SBI Life's 'Thanks A Dot', in its fifth year, has entered every household in the country by taking advantage of the existing habit. A unique method has been discovered.
