Rahi Anil Barve's 'Mayasabha' Teaser Unveils Eerie Cinematic Return

Filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve, known for the visually stunning Tumbbad (2018), has unveiled the teaser for his new feature, Mayasabha - The Hall of Illusion, confirming his return to the screen with a distinctly atmospheric and unsettling visual style.

The teaser, which follows the film’s premiere at the Jagran Film Festival and its official selection at the prestigious WAVES Film Bazaar – Viewing Room (Indian Panorama – IFFI), immerses viewers in a vintage, smoke-laden theatre setting. Barve relies heavily on shadows, muted hues, and minimalistic lighting to build an aura of profound mystery and tension. The visuals hint at a narrative where the pursuit of gold is intertwined with deep intrigue and unease.

The crumbling interiors of the theatre act as a character, amplifying the suspense, which is punctuated by a cryptic voiceover uttering just three words: "mein raundhungi tohe" (I will trample on you). This smoky, dimly lit world promises a gripping story balancing ambition, greed, and hidden secrets.
