Prayagraj Division Receives Prestigious Shield for Promoting Official Language Hindi

Prayagraj . The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Office of North Central Railway, Prayagraj, has been awarded the special prize and the prestigious Running Shield (Chal Vaijayanti) for 2025-26. The honor recognizes the division's outstanding performance in promoting and implementing Hindi as the official language.

The recognition was conferred by the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC, Office-1), Prayagraj. Constituted under the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, TOLIC ensures the effective implementation, promotion, and usage of Hindi across central government offices, public sector undertakings, banks, and autonomous bodies.

In Prayagraj, TOLIC (Office-1) is headquartered at the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Office and comprises 48 member organizations. Headed by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Meenakshi Singh, the committee evaluates member performance through annual reports to honor top-performing organizations.

At the ceremony, Meenakshi Singh presented the award to Deepak Kumar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (General) and Additional Chief Official Language Officer, who accepted it on behalf of the Prayagraj DRM Office. Addresssing the gathering, Deepak Kumar shared insights into the division's continuous efforts and initiatives to expand the everyday use of Hindi in official communications and workflows.

Notably, the Prayagraj DRM Office previously bagged the First Prize Running Shield in 2023-24. Winning the award again highlights the division's consistent dedication toward sustaining and fostering the official language policy.
