Post offices have been made multipurpose by providing all the services under one roof. In the changed times, the Postal Department is now delivering letters and parcels along with all the public welfare schemes of the government and its benefits to the people. In such a situation, universal accessibility of post offices is very important.
Postmaster General of Varanasi Zone Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav expressed the above views in a program organized at Mahmoorganj Sub Post Office in Varanasi. On this occasion, after lighting the lamp, he gave Mahila Samman Savings Certificate to women and Sukanya Samriddhi Account passbook to girls and wished them a happy future. He said that Sukanya Samriddhi accounts of 3.40 lakh girls have been opened in the Varanasi region, while accounts of all eligible girls up to 10 years of age in about 1,000 villages have been opened and covered as 'Complete Sukanya Samriddhi Gram'.
For the convenience of the people, all the people-oriented facilities like booking of mail, parcel items along with savings, insurance, IPPB, Aadhaar, Common Service Centre, Passport, Ganga water, QR code based digital payment are available in the post offices under one roof.
Varanasi Western Division Superintendent of Post Office Shri Vinay Kumar said that Mahmoorganj Post Office was operating in the premises of Varanasi Cantt Head Post Office since 2016 due to non-availability of the building.
The customers here were facing continuous problems. Once again, with the relocation of the post office to Mahmoorganj, all the facilities will be available to the customers. Also, customers will not need to go far for mail delivery, account opening, IPPB, renewal/updation of Aadhaar etc. After a long time, there was great joy among the common people due to the re-shifting of the post office in Mahmoorganj area.
On this occasion, Superintendent of Post Office Vinay Kumar, Assistant Director RK Chauhan, Assistant Superintendent Inderjit Pal, Postal Inspector Dilip Pandey, Manjeet Kumar, Postmaster Mahmoorganj Satish Kumar, SP Gupta and many officers, employees and local people were present.
