NCR Subedarganj Unit Empowers Youth Leaders with Grand Navratri Dandiya Night Celebration

Prayagraj : Demonstrating exceptional youth leadership and organizational prowess, the Subedarganj Station Unit of the North Central Railway (NCR) Bharat Scouts and Guides successfully organized a grand "Integration and Cultural Exchange Program" featuring a dazzling Dandiya Night on Sunday. Held at the Bharat Scout and Guide State Training Centre premises in Subedarganj on the auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami, the event marked a historic milestone as it was entirely planned, managed, and executed for the first time by young unit leaders themselves.

The venue was brilliantly transformed into an enchanting celebration hub adorned with colorful fairy lights and creative decorative materials, drawing immense appreciation from all attendees. The festivities commenced with a traditional lamp lighting and floral tribute to Goddess Durga, performed by the Chief Guest, Dr. Ashish Agarwal (Additional Chief Medical Superintendent, Subedarganj & State Commissioner-Cub), alongside Mrs. Rachana Agarwal (State Commissioner-Bulbul).

Adding prestige to the occasion, Mr. Ankur Chakraborty (Assistant District Commissioner-Scout, NCR, Prayagraj Division) graced the event as the Guest of Honor along with his family. Mrs. Ayushi Bhatnagar (Vice President, Bharat Scouts and Guides, NCR) also added grace through her esteemed presence. The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from registered scouts and guides, their parents, railway officials, and families residing in nearby railway colonies.

A major highlight of the evening was the Fancy Dress Competition, where participants ranging from three-year-old 'Cubs and Bulbuls' to distinguished guests dazzled the audience during a lively ramp walk. Young children performed mesmerizing solo and group dances to traditional Dandiya beats, earning enthusiastic applause and competitive awards judged by an esteemed panel. The grand finale featured a vibrant mass Dandiya dance where children, parents, leaders, and guests joined together in rhythm, filling the late-night air with festive cheer and musical harmony.

Thoughtful arrangements ensured seamless hospitality, including the distribution of traditional prasad (chana-halwa) for parents and special fruit-based refreshments (falar) for those observing Ashtami fasts. Drinking water and operational logistics were impeccably managed by the young volunteers themselves.

State and district dignitaries—including Ravikant Sharma, Manju Joshi, Pankaj Raj Kanojiya, Lipika गोस्वामी, and Shishupal Yadav—participated with their families to boost the young leaders' morale, encouraging them to organize more such community-building events in the future.

The event showcased extraordinary discipline, teamwork, and leadership among the Subedarganj unit leaders, providing children a wonderful platform to display cultural talent and hone managerial skills. Key coordinators included Puja Sharma (Chief Director), Priyanshu and Akash Yadav (Administrators), along with dedicated teams handling decoration, prasad preparation, and stage anchoring by Sonali Sharma and Muskan.
