Ram Kamal Mukherjee Steps In as Creative Producer for Aritra Das’s Hindi Feature ‘Common Aadmi’

Mumbai . Producer Aritra Das has unveiled the pre-teaser for his upcoming Hindi feature film, Common Aadmi, marking the launch of his new production banner, Aritra Das Creations, in association with Nurture Rise Productions. Acclaimed author and filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee has joined the project as Creative Producer, offering his artistic guidance to debutant director Khushal S. Rathore.

Based on Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s book Common Aadmi, the film brings to light the real-life story of CA Devendra Jain. Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, the narrative centers on Dev, a young man from Jaipur—the Pink City—who strives to become a Chartered Accountant. Standing at a crossroad between his father’s preference for a secure government job and his own ambition, Dev chooses to forge his own path, leading to a life-changing journey.

Lensed by cinematographer Winston Joses across multiple locations in India, the pre-teaser highlights an emotionally resonant tone.

Speaking about his collaboration with the team, Mukherjee noted that his role focused on guiding the debut director while ensuring the visual palette aligned seamlessly with the story's narrative. Producer Aritra Das, who previously worked with Mukherjee on the 2017 short film Cakewalk, expressed gratitude for Mukherjee's creative inputs, highlighting the depth they brought to the narrative. Director Khushal S. Rathore credited the team for trusting his vision in bringing an ordinary man’s extraordinary pursuit to the screen.

The film introduces Anujj Anil Sharrma in the lead role alongside Sreeja Dutta, with special appearances by veteran actors Rituparna Sengupta and Sonali Kulkarni.
