Suez India organized sewer work safety training
Lucknow. A sewer work safety training camp was organized by Jal Nigam in collaboration with Suez in the capital on Wednesday.
This camp was organized to train engineers, supervisory staff of contracted agencies and assistant engineers and junior engineers of Lucknow Municipal Corporation for the sewerage scheme under construction in Alambagh area.
n the camp, various types of safety equipment were displayed and the method of their operation was also explained by the skilled trainers of the safety team of Suez India. Naveen Singh, Safety Manager, Suez, was also briefed in the training on timing of mudslide prevention, safety precautions during operational/under construction sewer line and manhole cleaning, and what to do in case of emergency.
This training camp is important because it can help in preventing accidents during sewer work. After the accident that occurred in the Residency area of Lucknow on May 1, 2024, the Managing Director of the Municipal Corporation had directed to strengthen safety measures in sewerage works.
Mahesh Gautam, Executive Engineer, said that “This sewer work safety training camp organized by Jal Nigam is a commendable initiative.
This camp will contribute significantly in preventing accidents during sewer work and ensuring the safety of sewer workers.
