SKD Academy and SKD International School marked Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s 95th birth anniversary across all branches with tributes, quizzes, robotics showcases and a pledge to dream big, work hard.
Lucknow. Classrooms turned into halls of inspiration as SKD Academy and SKD International School marked the 95th birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, remembered across the country as the “Missile Man of India.” The celebrations were held at every branch of both institutions and coincided with World Students’ Day, which is observed each year on the birthday of the former President.
The day began with special assemblies, where students and teachers offered floral tributes to Dr. Kalam. Speeches followed, with children recalling his journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of India’s most admired scientists, and his lifelong identity as a teacher who loved being among young people.
The rest of the day was filled with activities designed to bring his ideas to life. Students took part in quizzes on his life and his celebrated autobiography, Wings of Fire. Poster-making and sketching competitions allowed younger learners to express their admiration through colour and imagination. Science and robotics showcases drew special attention, with young innovators presenting models that reflected the scientific temper Dr. Kalam championed throughout his career.
As the programmes concluded, students gathered to take a collective pledge to dream big, work hard and serve the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Manish Singh, Director, SKD Group of Education, said, “Dr. Kalam showed that humble beginnings can lead to extraordinary achievements. At SKD, we aim to build that curiosity and determination in every child.”
The mix of academic, creative and technical events ensured that learners of every age group could take part in a way that suited their interests. By moving beyond textbooks, the celebrations gave students a chance to connect with a role model whose life stands as proof of the power of perseverance, discipline and curiosity.
SKD Academy and SKD International School reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing innovative, value-driven young minds in the spirit of Dr. Kalam’s vision of a developed India. The institutions said they would continue to combine academic learning, technology and character building so that students grow into confident thinkers and responsible citizens.
