Prayagraj Martial Arts Prodigies Shine Bright at Madhu Vachaspati Taekwondo Championship

Prayagraj (UP Plus Bureau) : The campus of Madhu Vachaspati Inter College, Sulem Sarai, buzzed with electric energy as it hosted the Divisional Secondary School Taekwondo Championship. The event kicked off on a solemn and auspicious note with Principal Sharda Mishra performing the traditional lamp lighting and offering floral tributes to Goddess Saraswati. Addressing the young athletes, she emphasized the values of sportsmanship, self-defense, and unwavering discipline that martial arts instill in youth.

The grand opening featured a captivating cultural performance, where students blended classical devotion with vibrant folklore in a graceful Ganesh Vandana and folk dance rendition. The championship brought together fierce competitors from premier local institutions, including Naveen Shishu Mandir (Mundera), KP Girls Inter College (Civil Lines), CAV Inter College, and the host institution itself.

A panel of distinguished sports figures—Dharmendra Mishra (Sports Instructor, Maharshi Valmiki Inter College), Deepak Jaiswal (Cantonment High School), and Manju Arya (Madhu Vachaspati Inter College)—supervised the matches to ensure strict adherence to competitive standards.

Tournament Highlights & Winners
The dynamic combat rounds produced impressive performances across multiple age brackets:

Boys' Division:

• Under-14: Adi Soni, Aditya Verma, Abhishek Sonkar, and Avik Kushwaha clinched top spots.
• Under-17: Abhay Singh, Ansh Sahu, Vimid Vishwas, Aryan Kumar, and Mandeep Kumar dominated their respective weight categories.
• Under-19: Anmol Sahu, Atharva Vedant, and Amit Srivastava secured gold.

Girls' Division:

• Under-14: Pari Patel, Nancy Raj, and Chandni took first place.
• Under-17: Trisha Kashyap, Deepika Mishra, Sunita Pal, Maham Parveen, Ananya, Mahi Kesarwani, Badira Rawat, Chahat Raj, and Mahak Saroj achieved top honors.
• Under-19: Mahima Mishra delivered a standout performance to claim first place.

The smooth execution of the tournament was made possible by officials Ronit Kumar, Shubham Arya, and Sachin Dubey, along with coaches Sonali, Sagar Kashyap, and Ravi.

The top performers selected from this round will return to the school grounds on September 23 for the next stage of the district-level selections.
