Lucknow is set to host a major Ahimsa Conference and Peace March on October 2, promoting vegetarianism, prohibition, cow protection, and social harmony with distinguished awards and poetry sessions.
Lucknow : Lucknow is gearing up for a significant socio-spiritual gathering as the capital city prepares to host the Ahimsa Conference and Peace March on October 2. Organized under the aegis of the Akhil Bharatiya Shakahar Parishad, the mega event aims to foster ideological revolution, social harmony, and human values, drawing intellectuals, social workers, and eminent scholars from across the country.
The conference will focus heavily on vital societal topics, including non-violence (Ahimsa), vegetarianism, de-addiction (nasha-mukt samaj), the promotion of indigenous (Swदेशी) products, cow conservation, and organic farming. Speaking about the initiative, convention coordinator Pawan Jain expressed grave concern over the rising inclination of the younger generation toward non-vegetarianism and intoxicants, stressing the urgent need for mass awareness. He noted that inspired by the ideals of Acharya Vidyasagar, the event will highlight how adopting eco-friendly, cow-based organic agriculture and indigenous goods ensures environmental sustainability and national self-reliance.
A major highlight of the day will be the Peace March (Ahimsa Yatra), which commences at the Ramakrishna Math near IT Crossing and culminates at Madhav Auditorium in Nirala Nagar. The march serves as a vibrant public appeal for compassion toward all living beings. Furthermore, ten prominent personalities across various fields will be conferred with the prestigious 'Samaj Gaurav Samman' in recognition of their exceptional contributions to society.
The day-long celebrations will conclude with an All India Poetic Symposium (Kavi Sammelan) in the evening, utilizing the power of literature and verse to spread strong messages of moral awakening and human empathy. Organizers Shailendra Chaturvedi, Pramil Dwivedi, and Vidyut Jain have called upon citizens, students, and social organizations of Lucknow to participate enthusiastically and build a healthier, more compassionate society.
