Pratapgarh : Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide call for cleanliness, the Divya Jyoti Seva Sansthan (Bhupiamau) spearheaded an extensive sanitation and awareness drive across Lala Bazar and Alapur Bazar in the Kalakankar block region of Kunda, Pratapgarh. Operating under the empowering slogan "Swachhata Hi Seva" (Cleanliness is Service), the organization's dedicated office-bearers and volunteers targeted key public spaces, market thoroughfares, and Durga Puja pandals to drive home the message of environmental responsibility.
Armed with brooms and waste-collection equipment, volunteers actively cleared garbage from streets and communal areas while personally engaging with shopkeepers, residents, and visitors. The drive held particular significance given the massive surge in footfall at market centers and devotional pandals during the festive season, making hygiene and waste management critical to public health.
Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Dr. Ranjeet Singh, President of Divya Jyoti Seva Sansthan, emphasized that cleanliness must transcend one-off campaigns and become an integral aspect of everyday life. He urged citizens and shopkeepers to strictly avoid littering plastic waste and single-use materials in open areas, advocating instead for collective responsibility in maintaining public hygiene during large community gatherings.
Echoing these sentiments, Agricultural Scientist Dr. Awadhesh Singh stressed that achieving long-term sanitation goals requires active social participation and civic awareness. He encouraged every individual to take proactive steps toward transforming environmental cleanliness into a sustained community movement.
The event witnessed strong local support and participation from key organization members, including Mahendra Pratap, Yatendra Kumar, Manoj Vishwakarma, Mohit, Hemraj, and Arun Shukla, along with numerous regional residents who joined hands to clean the streets.
