Holi Festivities Meet Advocacy: Sanyukt Udyog Vyapar Mandal Raises Voice for Traders’ Rights

Lucknow : The Transport Nagar unit of the Sanyukt Udyog Vyapar Mandal, led by Unit President Sanjay Gupta, hosted a vibrant Holi Milan ceremony filled with traditional fervor and communal harmony. Traders gathered in large numbers to celebrate with flower petals, Abir, and Gulal, transforming the venue into a kaleidoscope of colors.

The event was graced by the organization’s National President, Anjani Kumar Pandey, along with several high-ranking officials including State In-charge Praveen Mani Tripathi and Women’s Cell President Geeta Gupta.

While the atmosphere was festive, the gathering also served as a platform to address the growing challenges faced by the mercantile community. In his keynote address, National President Anjani Kumar Pandey extended Holi greetings but shifted focus to the "stringent regulations" being imposed by both the Central and State governments.

Key grievances raised during the meet included:

Commercial Gas Shortages: Traders noted that the inconsistent supply of commercial gas cylinders is forcing many small businesses to pull down their shutters.

LDA Map Disputes: Concerns were voiced regarding the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) demanding approved maps for decades-old buildings, leading to heavy fines for non-compliance.

Policy Pressure: The leadership criticized the "constant influx of new laws" that complicate business operations for local traders.

The organization concluded the event by urging the government to provide immediate relief and simplify policies to ensure the survival of the trading sector.
