Mayawati Slams Samajwadi Party Over Rajya Sabha Candidate Selection
Mayawati attacks SP over Rajya Sabha ticket to billionaire Dhanraj Nathwani, citing neglect of PDA.
LUCKNOW-BSP chief Mayawati has launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party over its Rajya Sabha candidate selections, especially the nomination of billionaire businessman Dhanraj Nathwani, intensifying the ongoing political war of words between the two parties in Uttar Pradesh.
Mayawati said the Samajwadi Party needs votes from PDA communities (Pichhda, Dalit and Adivasi) but hands tickets to families of its MPs and MLAs and to capitalists, accusing the party of ignoring the very voters it openly courts for support.
The Mayawati versus SP clash over the Rajya Sabha nomination highlights the contest for Dalit and backward votes in Uttar Pradesh politics, making this latest Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha controversy one of today's breaking political news stories across India right now.
