Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended a commemorative event in Lucknow to mark the martyrdom day of iconic freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Gulab Singh Lodhi, paying floral tributes and honoring his sacrifice in India's independence movement.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the historical significance of August 23, 1935, when Gulab Singh Lodhi laid down his life while defending the national flag at Jhandewalan Park in Lucknow during the anti-British struggle.
"Amar Shaheed Gulab Singh Lodhi sacrificed his life for the motherland, inscribing a golden chapter in the history of India's freedom movement. His bravery and unwavering commitment continue to inspire future generations."
State Honors and Institutional Naming in Unnao
To preserve the memory of the revered martyr and ensure his legacy remains integral to state history, the Uttar Pradesh government has named key infrastructure projects and institutions in Unnao district after him:
Educational & Training Hubs: Renaming of the Police Training College in honor of Amar Shaheed Gulab Singh Lodhi.
Public Healthcare: Naming of local primary healthcare centers (PHCs) after the martyr.
Memorial Parks: Establishment and naming of dedicated public parks to commemorate his supreme sacrifice.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated that the state government remains committed to honoring freedom fighters across Uttar Pradesh, ensuring their contributions to national sovereignty are preserved in public memory.
