Double Gold Glory: SVN Prayagraj’s Abika Yadav Shines in CBSE Athletics, Leads Basketball Team to Bronze

Prayagraj :  Abika Yadav, an exceptionally talented athlete from Shakun Vidya Niketan (SVN) Prayagraj, has delivered an outstanding performance at the CBSE Cluster-5 Girls Athletics Championship, clinching two prestigious gold medals.

According to the Vice Principal of the institution, Akanksha Mishra, the four-day athletic championship was hosted by St. Michael's School in Ballia from July 28 to July 31. Displaying remarkable endurance and speed, Abika dominated the Under-17 girls' category by finishing first in both the 1500-meter and 3000-meter track events.

Abika’s athletic brilliance goes beyond track and field. Just days prior to her track victory, she served as the vice-captain for SVN’s Under-14 Girls' Basketball team at the CBSE Basketball Tournament held at Samskar International School. Under the dynamic leadership of Captain Ankita and Vice-Captain Abika, the school basketball squad secured a remarkable third-place finish to bring home the bronze medal. The team—comprising Riya, Siddhi, Tejaswi, Arushi, Niharika, Ekanshi, Riddhi, Rudri, Anshika, and Simmi—won hearts across the tournament for their flawless teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline.

Celebrations broke out at Shakun Vidya Niketan following the dual triumphs. School Principal Shakuntala Mishra, Vice Principal Akanksha Mishra, Sports Coordinator Gaurang Mishra, and physical education teachers Aman Yadav and Ayushi Kesarwani congratulated Abika and the entire basketball squad.

Extending her warm wishes for their future endeavors, Principal Shakuntala Mishra remarked that these triumphs reflect the unwavering dedication of the students and the tireless efforts of their coaches.
