#MontraElectric Steps Up EV Game in UP; Opens New Experience Centre in Lucknow

Lucknow : Montra Electric, the sustainable mobility arm of the Chennai-based Murugappa Group, has officially strengthened its presence in North India by launching a state-of-the-art dealership in Lucknow. Partnering with SP Motor, this new integrated touchpoint is set to cater to the surging demand for eco-friendly commercial vehicles in Uttar Pradesh. The outlet will showcase, sell, and service Montra Electric's flagship three-wheeler (e-3W) lineup, featuring the 'Super Auto' passenger vehicle and the 'Super Cargo' carrier.

To mark the grand entry, the brand unveiled its vehicles at an exclusive event hosted at The Lily Vilas Hotel in Lucknow, followed by a vibrant vehicle rally across major corridors of the city. This roadshow highlighted the brand's vision to accelerate clean energy adoption in one of India's most crucial transit hubs.

According to recent vehicle registration data, Uttar Pradesh sits at the very heart of India’s three-wheeler revolution. In FY26 alone, the state saw more than 3 lakh three-wheeler registrations. Furthermore, in May 2026, electric three-wheelers accounted for a staggering 58% of all EV registrations in the state, underscoring a massive behavioral shift toward electric mobility. Montra Electric already boasts a running fleet of over 500 vehicles in Lucknow, giving it a strong foundational edge.

This new showroom will act as a comprehensive one-stop hub, seamlessly combining sales, periodic maintenance, genuine spare parts availability, and robust customer support under one roof to maximize vehicle uptime.

Speaking on the expansion, Mr. Dhirendra Sharma, CEO-e3W, Montra Electric (TI Clean Mobility), stated:

Built for grueling urban shifts, the Montra Super Auto features a powerful 10.6 kWh battery pack that delivers a practical, real-world range of over 160 kilometers on a single charge. Producing a peak torque of 60 Nm, it ensures effortless city driving. Apart from its futuristic aesthetics, the vehicle boasts a spacious cabin, ergonomic seating, and a clutch-free, vibration-free ride quality designed to minimize driver fatigue, complemented by advanced all-LED lighting for enhanced night-time safety.
