Avadh Collegiate Shines at Inter-District Taekwondo Championship, Bags 28 Medals and Second Place in Team Event

Avadh Collegiate's young taekwondo players won 28 medals and second place in the team title at the 5th Inter-District Championship in Lucknow, with coaches and management praising their discipline and hard work.

Lucknow: Young taekwondo athletes of Avadh Collegiate delivered a powerful performance at the 5th Inter-District Taekwondo Championship, winning a total of 28 medals and finishing second in the team championship. The two-day event was held on 5 and 6 September 2026 at Jawaharlal Nehru Yuva Kendra in Chowk, Lucknow.

Hundreds of players from across the state took part. Advocate Vinay Kumar (High Court) attended as chief guest, and the programme was inaugurated by Vinay Kumar Singh.

Among the gold medallists, Aarush Singh Swarnkar won in the Cadet 36 kg category, while Krishv Tiwari topped the Sub-Junior class. Shashikant and Pratik Yadav also claimed gold. Sonakshi Sinha and Azma Siraj won gold in the Sub-Junior 32 kg and 25 kg categories respectively. Satyam Pandey and Sanskar Dwivedi took gold in the Junior 58 kg and 53 kg classes, Swastika won gold in the Women's Cadet category, and Pulkit Srivastava won gold in Sub-Junior 30 kg. Avni Rawat secured gold in Poomsae.

The silver tally included Kaustubh Mani Pandey, Abhijeet, Tejas Srivastava (Cadet 54 kg), Parth Awasthi (Cadet 30 kg), Vaishnavi, Atharv (Sub-Junior) and Saksham (Cadet 54 kg). Khushi also won a Poomsae medal. Aarush Tripathi, Anurag Singh and Aryan Roy won bronze.

In the team championship, Lucknow Shubhraj Taekwondo Academy finished first, Avadh Collegiate on Kanpur Road second, and Neelkanth Taekwondo Lucknow third.

Founder Manager Sarvjeet Singh said the players had trained hard in a rigorous camp before the event, and the results reflected that effort. Founder Managing Director Jatinder Walia praised the athletes for their discipline, confidence and technical skill, crediting their dedication, parents' support and the guidance of coach Ghanshyam Sharma.

The championship was organised by Shivanshu Sharma of SSTA. At the close, Subhash Maurya, Secretary of the Lucknow Taekwondo Association, presented medals and certificates to the winners.

The local sports department has announced a special ceremony to honour all medallists. The players now aim to win more medals at upcoming national competitions and bring further pride to the state.
