Padma Shri Dr. Vidya Bindu released eight books by Dr. Rashmi Srivastava at Lucknow's 23rd National Book Fair, covering children's literature, environment, Indian knowledge traditions and education, with books donated to libraries.

Lucknow.  A book launch ceremony at the 23rd National Book Fair on Saturday brought together writers, educators and students, as eight books by Dr. Rashmi Srivastava were formally released. This year's fair is dedicated to the theme marking 150 years of "Vande Mataram."

Dr. Srivastava, Head of the B.Ed. Department at Mahila Vidyalaya Degree College, Lucknow, has written and edited the books. They were unveiled by Padma Shri Dr. Vidya Bindu, the chief guest, and Prof. Surendra Vikram, who presided over the event, along with other guests on the dais.

The programme began with lamp lighting and a Saraswati Vandana. Awadhesh Kumar Srivastava, Accounts Officer at Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, and Mugdha Srivastava welcomed the guests.

The released titles are "Naitik Shiksha Balgeet," "Amma Ki Lori," "Paryavaran Shiksha Balgeet," "Post Box," "Neem Ke Ped," "Bharatiya Gyan Parampara Ke Shaikshik Nihitarth," "Shiksha Ke Darshanik Tatha Samajshastriya Aadhar" and "Bharatiya Samajik Sandarbh Tatha Shiksha."

Dr. Srivastava spoke about the inspiration behind her work, saying the books aim to build moral and environmental awareness in children while presenting Indian culture, knowledge traditions and the social and philosophical sides of education in a simple, effective way. Illustrator Amritansh Srivastava explained how the artwork and cover designs were conceived, noting that visual presentation helps connect readers with a book's content.

Alka Pramod shared her views on literature and book culture. Dr. Vidya Bindu congratulated the author and stressed the need for continuous writing, while Prof. Vikram described books as a vital means of spreading knowledge, sensitivity and ideas in society.

Awadhesh Kumar Srivastava urged students to read regularly, saying nothing replaces books even in the digital age, and called students the foundation of a developed India by 2047.

Dr. Srivastava also donated copies of her books to the libraries of Lucknow University, Maharishi University, Charak Mahavidyalaya and Gautam Buddha Mahavidyalaya. Students interacted with the authors and guests, asking about writing and reading.

Abhinav Srivastava conducted the programme. Dr. Sapan Asthana of the NSS, Maharishi University of Information Technology, proposed the vote of thanks, and the event ended with the national anthem. Dr. Anuradha Tiwari, Principal of Charak Degree College, Vinay Srivastava and Dr. Mridula Singh were among those present.
