NCR Central Hospital Hosts Nutrition Awareness and Child Growth Monitoring Drive at Bal Vatika

Prayagraj : As part of the ongoing 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah campaign, the Central Hospital of North Central Railway (NCR), Prayagraj, organized a comprehensive Nutrition Awareness and Growth Monitoring Program for school children at Bal Vatika on October 6, 2026.

The event was graced by Gulshan Waris, Vice President of the Women’s Welfare Organization (Prayagraj Division), alongside member Mansi Jain. Addressing the young audience, Gulshan Waris highlighted the vital role of balanced nutrition in fostering physical and mental development, encouraging children to cultivate healthy daily habits early in life.

Senior Dietitian Arpana Saxena led an interactive session explaining fundamental nutritional concepts in a child-friendly manner. She educated the students on choosing wholesome foods, maintaining adequate hydration, and limiting junk food consumption. Saxena emphasized that consistent, well-rounded nutrition forms the cornerstone of robust health and sustainable physical growth.

In addition to the interactive learning sessions, medical staff conducted systematic growth monitoring to evaluate the children's physical development metrics. Students actively engaged in the drive, asking questions and sharing their thoughts on food and health.

The initiative was executed with active support from the Family Welfare Department team, in the presence of the Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), school principal, and teaching staff. The drive successfully reinforced key healthy lifestyle practices among young learners under the national nutrition awareness banner.
