Mathura: In an ongoing drive against illicit liquor trafficking, the Yamunapar Police arrested a 27-year-old youth on Monday morning after recovering 22 pouches of illegal country-made liquor from his possession.

The arrest took place at around 9:10 AM on October 5, 2026, near the Dudhadhari Phatak Panigaon bend during a routine security check. A police patrol team intercepted a suspicious individual and conducted a search, leading to the recovery of 22 pouches of "Globs Spirits No. 1" country liquor.

The suspect was identified as Shahzad (27), son of Salim, a resident of Pratapnagar, Laxminagar, within the jurisdiction of Yamunapar Police Station.

Following the recovery, police registered a case against the accused under Section 60 of the Excise Act (FIR No. 388/2026). Police records reveal that Shahzad is a repeat offender, with a prior criminal case (FIR No. 138/2026) registered against him at Yamunapar Police Station under Sections 115(2), 352, and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The police team responsible for the operation included Inspector-in-Charge Videsh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Vijay Goswami, Constable Irshad Ali, and Constable Akash Sagar. Local authorities emphasized that rigorous patrolling will continue across the district to curb the illegal sale and smuggling of liquor.
