Advanced Modular Eye Operation Theater Inaugurated at Rajrani Hospital, Kanpur
UP Minister Rakesh Sachan inaugurated a state-of-the-art modular eye operation theater at Rajrani Hospital in Naubasta, Kanpur, ensuring infection-free, year-round cataract and eye surgeries.
Kanpur : Elevating healthcare infrastructure and eye care services in the region, a state-of-the-art Modular Eye Operation Theater was inaugurated at Rajrani Hospital, located in Naubasta, Kanpur. Cabinet Minister for Khadi and Village Industries, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Rakesh Sachan, inaugurated the facility as the chief guest by cutting the traditional ribbon.
Speaking on the occasion, Hospital Director and renowned Phaco Surgeon, Dr. Vineet Verma, highlighted the key advantages of a modular OT for surgical procedures. He explained that the walls of a modular operation theater are constructed using specialized antibacterial materials that prevent bacterial growth, thereby completely eliminating the risk of post-surgical eye infections.
Dr. Verma further noted that maintaining a stable temperature and air pressure within the operating environment is crucial during delicate eye procedures—a requirement seamlessly managed by the new modular setup.
Dispelling common myths regarding cataract procedures, Dr. Verma emphasized that patients can now safely undergo cataract surgery in any season. While a misconception previously existed that cataract operations should only be conducted during the winter months, the sterile, climate-controlled environment of a modular OT allows for completely safe and infection-free surgeries throughout summer, monsoon, or winter.
