Teachers Should Be Role Models Beyond Classrooms: Prof. Usha Dubey
Prof. Usha Dubey urges educators to guide, inspire, and connect with students beyond textbooks during a special education lecture.

Speaking as the keynote speaker at a special lecture on “Challenges in Education” hosted by Thakur Har Narayan Singh Degree College, Karailabagh, Prof. Dubey urged teachers to engage more deeply with students' lives and aspirations.
"A teacher’s role doesn’t end at the blackboard. They must remain consistently connected with their students, understand their potential, and guide them to become successful contributors to society," she asserted.
Prof. Dubey highlighted that nurturing a student’s hidden talent and instilling confidence is as essential as academic teaching. Drawing a vivid analogy, she said,
"Just like flowing water remains clean and stagnant water becomes dirty, similarly, knowledge must continue to grow and evolve. A teacher must always keep their intellectual vision active to truly shape personalities."
She also stressed the need to foster curiosity and encourage self-discovery in students rather than focusing solely on rote learning.
"Confidence is born from education, and every child carries immense potential. It’s the teacher’s responsibility to bring that to the surface," she added.
The lecture began with the ceremonial lamp lighting, a traditional mark of reverence for knowledge.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Govind Rao, the college principal, echoed the sentiment in his address, citing the Vishnu Purana quote: “Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye”—which means true education is that which leads to liberation.
He emphasized that education should be internalized and reflected in one's conduct, urging students to live by the values they learn.
The event was hosted by the Department of Education and witnessed participation from over 400 students, along with several faculty members and dignitaries.
Dr. Jyoti Yadav, Head of the Department of Education at the host college, extended her gratitude to the guest speaker and attendees.
Dr. Ambika Prasad efficiently conducted the session as the moderator.
Among the key attendees were:
Dr. Pooja Thakur
Dr. Jitendra Verma
Vivek Mishra
Sandeep Singh
Vijay Anand Singh
Mrs. Monika Kushwaha
Ms. Priya Singh
Dr. Aradhana Mukherjee
Dr. Arti Jaiswal

Ajit Upadhyay
The event underscored the importance of value-based education and encouraged young educators and future teachers to take their responsibility beyond textbooks—toward mentorship and character building.
As education systems around the world face increasing pressures of standardization and digitalization, voices like Prof. Dubey’s bring back attention to the human element in teaching—where empathy, guidance, and personal connection are as critical as the curriculum.
This lecture acted as both a call to action for teachers and a motivational moment for students, reminding everyone that true education liberates not just minds—but lives.
